       雖然金魚受飼養狀況或人為控制,成長速度有快有慢,很難從外觀大小判斷魚齡,但可以從魚的鱗片觀察,將魚鱗洗乾淨後曬乾,在顯微鏡下可以看到有類似樹木年輪的同心年紋環,有幾個同心年紋環,就代表魚存活幾年,但再生或替換的鱗片不能用來辨識金魚的年齡,一般金魚的壽命在5~6年.

Generally, the life-span of goldfish is about 5~6 year. Although, the growth of goldfish is depending on the human’s caring and controlling, there is very difficult to ascertain the age of goldfish from their outlook. After cleaning the goldfish scale and having sun-burned, the goldfish scale can be ascertaining by using a microscope to see the annual ring for checking their age. However, the renewal goldfish scale can’t be ascertaining their age.
