金魚檢疫的重要性(The importance of goldfish quarantine)

       市面上的金魚多數來自大陸、日本或東南亞地區，進口店家或魚場應即對魚做初步的檢疫措施，這個步驟很重要，關係著這些魚將來的命運，因為為避免金魚在運送過程被本身產生的排泄物(便便)污染，在運送前幾天就停止餵食，又裝袋密度過高及時間過長，容易缺氧及碰撞受傷，加上進口後因飼養環境和水質的差異，均會降低魚體本身的免疫力，若未能於潛伏期（通常是一至二週）內作檢疫工作，將使得原本潛伏於金魚體內的水生菌或寄生蟲開始發作，輕者爛尾（鰭），嚴重者魚體（頭）開始掉鱗（潰爛），此時再使用市售金魚用藥，不是無法有效抑制病情，就是要花一段時間才能治癒，這往往是養金魚會失敗的主要原因，只要金魚經過檢疫的步驟，就可放心飼養了。

       雖說金魚有自癒能力，但若是每次買魚在1個月內就傷亡，就要留意是否是新魚沒檢疫或檢疫不完全造成，即使店家說有檢疫，為求慎重，最好再自行用隔離缸檢疫一個月，確定無病況再移入飼養缸，畢竟高級金魚有一定的價格，沒養好不止燒錢還傷心情，畢竟是經過自己精挑細選。除非是把高級金魚當有使用效期的商品，月初買魚月底死傷再買，喜歡享受花錢買新魚的樂趣，你開心店家更歡迎，那就另當別論。

Most of the goldfishes are imported from Mainland China, Japan or Southeast Asia. The importing goldfish shop or goldfish farm has initial quarantine. This step is very important and the future life of goldfish is depending on this initial quarantine due to the following factors:

a. In order to avoid the pollution of its excrement during the transportation, the goldfish was stop fed before exporting from fish farm.
b. The high-density bagging and long transportation timing would be easy to cause goldfish anoxaemia and colliding.
c. The different environment and water quality would cause goldfish to decrease the immunity.

If the quarantine is not made during the latent period (1-2 weeks), the internal aquatic disease or parasite would be started bursting out, light disease like ragged tail, serious disease like fester body (head) and dropping scale. Once the matter is caused, there are various goldfish medicines are available. Although the medicine is capable to cause goldfish recovering, there should take time. This is the failure factor of the beginner goldfish keeper. If the quarantine is well done, the continue keeping would be relieved.
